Heist is another dog who completely transformed my thought processes towards connection and training. Before him, I had very little understanding of how motion and pressure influence a dog’s behaviour in agility. I had never had a dog that would run so fast and recklessly, even at the expense of their own safety.He has broken jump bars, weave poles, and taken me off my feet on course.
The lesson I learned from Heist is that building connection “take the time it takes” and that you can’t rush a dog’s development. I truly believe that you get the dog you need at the time and Heist certainly was the dog I needed. He has taught me that there is no time limit on success. I am very proud of how far our teamwork has come and know that we will continue to build our connection on course.
